JUNETEENTHKC 2022 COVID-19 EVENT PREVENTATIVE PLAN
JuneteenthKC recognizes that the need to provide positive socialization and educational activities are vital to the stability of our communities.
In an effort to continue to provide this service to the community JuneteenthKC has identified the following preventative measures to be implemented during all community gatherings.
JuneteenthKC thanks the City of Kansas City Health Department, Home State Health, Healthy Blue Missouri for its continued support by providing FREE masks & hand sanitizer to be distributed at all 2022 community initiatives!
To assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19 during community events JuneteenthKC will execute & abide by the following procedures:

Event activities will end by 9:00 pm

Events will utilize multiple entrances and exits and discourage crowded waiting areas

Event organizers will provide physical guides, such as tape on floors or sidewalks and signs on walls, to ensure that individuals remain at least 6 feet apart in lines and at other times (such as guides for creating one-way routes).

Outdoor activities will be prioritized where social distancing can be maintained as much as possible.

No more than 10 individuals shall be seated in a party or allowed to gather within event areas

Hand Sanitizer & Mask stations will be hosted at event entrances/partner venues

Security will enforce mask compliance within event & partner venues.

Event Organizers/Establishments will notify the Health Department if any employee or customer is known to have tested positive for COVID-19.

All indoor event participants must be seated while eating and/or drinking.

Six-foot distancing shall be maintained between different parties, as measured from the back of the chair to the back of the chair. This includes booths, which may necessitate closing off every other booth space in certain layouts.

Event patrons, customers, and employees of establishments will wear masks while not actively engaged in consuming food or beverages. This includes within street blockades, entering partner venues and waiting to be seated, entering/exiting the establishment, and using restrooms or other facilities in the partner venues.

Patrons who are exhibiting symptoms will not be allowed to enter barricaded areas or enter partner venues.

Employees/Event Staff who are exhibiting symptoms will not be allowed to work.

Buffet-style food service will not be permitted. In addition, all self-service food operations will not be permitted.

All employees are required to wear protective face coverings at all times.

All dining surfaces, including tables, chairs, and high chairs will be cleaned and sanitized between customers.

Cleaning and sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces like doors, door handles, service counters, restrooms, and waiting areas will be completed at a minimum of every 90 minutes.

Patio and outside dining service at Partner Venues will be allowed with the social distancing of six feet between parties

Restaurants & Partner Venues will adhere to all requirements set forth in the Kansas City Missouri Food Code, including handwashing frequency, employee health guidelines, and proper sanitization of surfaces.

Event Organizers will be responsible for enforcement within the blockade area & Participating venues/businesses will be responsible for enforcement within their facilities
